The Parties discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, as well as issues on signing the Association Agreement in the context of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.

“This is now a historic moment for Ukraine – right before the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius when the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement can be signed,” said the Chairman of COEST Petteri Vuorimaki.

Hryhoriy Nemyrya informed the working group members about the progress of the Verkhovna Rada in adopting legislation necessary for signing the Agreement.

“Lately the EU leaders again claimed that without the resolution of Yulia Tymoshenko’s case, the Agreement will not be signed,” he said.

The issues on the Action Plan for the EU-Ukraine visa regime liberalization, particularly concerning anti-discrimination legislation, were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Volodymyr Polochaninov and a member of the Committee on European Integration Yuriy Blahodyr.
